Weekly Notes for January 11
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Friends,
We have had some amazing spiritually moving performances and speakers in the last week!
The Asante Children's Choir brought me to tears with their performance at Chapel last Thursday morning as well as at the concert Thursday evening.
Alex Pappas inspired our 3rd-5th graders Tuesday afternoon with his music and testimonial. Thanks be to God for bringing these talented Christians to kick off the new year!
In His Service,
Shelly Matthews
Principal

LAM Distinguished Guest
Our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders had a special guest speaker/performer this week:
Alex Pappas met with our 3rd-5th graders to share his experiences going to school at Hillsong Music University in Australia and touring around the world performing in Christian Rock Concerts sharing the love of Christ.
Alex was born in California, but moved to Idaho when he was 11 years old. He began playing the piano when he was 4 but switched to the guitar at age 10. His choir teacher noticed his instrumental and vocal talents and encouraged Alex to compete at the state level where he won several awards!
He was a featured soloist at NIC when he transferred to Hillsong College in Sydney, Australia. He was able to tour with the Hillsong band in Australia, India and Indonesia. He came to LAM to share about how God impacted his life and the influence God has over his music.
Alex was an inspiration to our students. We were blessed to have him visit!
Reading is the Ticket!
It's time for Reading is the Ticket!!
Students need to spend at least 10 hours reading just for fun. We will be sending home a tally sheet to list the time you spend reading and the items you read. Parents will need to initial and sign the tally sheets. (More tally sheets are available in the office as needed.)
After 10 hours of reading, turn in the completed tally sheet to your teacher by March 16th and students will receive a free ticket to SILVERWOOD THEME PARK!
Tickets will be available the middle of May.
