Weekly Notes for February 1

Dear Parents,

Two weeks ago I had the honor and priviledge to spend a week participating in the VanLunen Fellows Executive Management program for Christian Heads of Schools. There are 24 Fellows from Christian schools throughout the United States and Canada. The faculty is a world class group of consultants and educators who have a heart for Christian education and Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan organizes this incredible opportunity. I came back with renewed knowing we are on the right track and headed into the future with a proactive approach to curriculum, and a new sense of how we should approach broadening our base of income. There was time for self-reflection and an indepth look at my leadership style and the team of leaders here at LAM. We are so incredibly blessed to have the committed faculty and staff that we have here and the team that God has formed using each persons strengths to do His work.

This is an intense time of preparation for your school board as they are working dilegently to plan for the near future and the long range plans for this school. Please keep the leadership in prayer as we all continue to seek wisdom and guidance in the decisions for this work here at LAM.

P.S. I also checked off a bucket list item while I was in Arizona at the training. Yes, I ran my first half marathon! I am excited to say I now ENJOY running and look forward to finding time to train and run another half marathon hopefully this summer!

PARENT'S NIGHT OUT

It is that time of year again! LAM would like to offer to our parents a night to themselves!

This is an opportunity to have an evening out and leave your children in the care of LAM Staff. Upon arrival, children will pull a card to find out what group they will begin with. Younger siblings may stay with older siblings if requested. Children will move with their group from center to center, participating in various activities. Groups will join together at the end to watch the movie "WALL-E".

This event is for the first 45 students who register. Pre-registration is required. Drop-ins will not be accepted at the door. Registration is due no later than Wednesday, February 8th at 3:30 pm.
